PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 1, 2025) – It’s so far, so good as the way to the beach on Holland’s North Side has undergone a “road diet.”
In April, Ottawa County Road Commission contractors repainted Ottawa Beach Road between 144th and 160th avenues, reducing westbound traffic to one lane, and establishing a center turn lane. This safety measure raised concerns about possible traffic congestion during the upcoming summer months, but as Executive Director Jason Latham of the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council says, those concerns are, at this point, unfounded.
The Ottawa Beach Road “road diet” is part of the MACC’s Safety Action Plan that was enacted by the regional council’s policy board of local elected leaders this spring.
