ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 29, 2025) – There still haven’t been any names disclosed following a deadly two-vehicle crash north of Zeeland last Friday evening, but more details were forthcoming from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
It was determined that a 43-year-old Blendon Township man was driving a Consumers Energy truck southbound on 88th Avenue around 7:30 PM when it struck a westbound sedan at the intersection of Ransom Street. The force of the collision threw the utility worker out of his vehicle, causing fatal injuries at the scene, while the driver of the sedan, a 64-year-old Park Township woman, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The intersection has stop signs for Ransom Street traffic, with 88th Avenue having the right-of-way.
The incident remains under investigation.
