SALEM TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 27, 2025) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a pickup truck just south of the Ottawa/Allegan county line near Burnips late on Saturday night.
As is its custom, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office will release no details as to the identity of the victim, nor the circumstances that led to the incident, after first responders were dispatched to the area of 146th Avenue east of 27th Street around 10:15 PM. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and while alcohol is believed to be “a contributing factor,” deputies also didn’t say if the driver involved was apprehended or not.
All authorities will say at this point is that the matter remains under investigation, and thanked the various agencies that responded to the incident.
