Tom was born on August 18th, 1947 in Holland Michigan to Jerrold and Sarah (Bosch) Tucker. He graduated from Holland Christian Schools and then spent a year at a trade school for diesel mechanics in Chicago before going on to serve our country in Vietnam. After returning home he married Marjorie Anne Defouw on July 19th 1968. They raised their four children in Hamilton Michigan. Tom Tucker worked for Mans Fertilizer for many years before moving on to drive truck for Hamilton Farm Bureau and then for Brinks Farms.
Tom and Marge were long time members of Hamilton Christian Reformed Church where Tom served in the consistory, special music, and youth ministries. Tom’s faith led his life. He loved without hesitation and taught many how to do the same.
He is survived by his wife Marge of 57 years and their children and grandchildren: T.J. (Thomas Jr) and James Sherman, Terry, Tony, Tiffany and Brian Louzon and their two children Joe and Aaron. Tom’s brother’s Bob, Les, Marc, his sister Shirley, sisters in law who proceeded him in death, Barb and Karen, his in law family Mike, Diane, Dan and their extended families.
The funeral service will be held at Hamilton Christian Reformed Church on Monday, July 28th at 11am. The visitation is on Sunday, July 27th from 2 to 5pm at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Tom will be laid to rest in East Saugatuck memorial cemetery. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at both Freedom Village and Medilodge of Holland for taking care of Tom in a manner of not only respect, but also dignity and compassion. He spoke highly to us of those who took care of him and we are eternally grateful for that.
