Daniel David Hahn, age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 17, 2025, following a courageous cancer journey. He was surrounded by family who were singing hymns and telling stories of his life.
Born in Milwaukee, WI., he is the son of the late Raymond and the late Dorothy Hahn. Following his graduation from Pulaski High School (Milwaukee, WI), Daniel enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Alaska. He used his GI Bill to fund his associate’s degree in Lay Ministry from Concordia College. He also earned his associate’s degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College, which formed the foundation for his long-standing career in the restaurant and hospitality industry. After working in a variety of settings, Daniel ended his career as a café manager at a Borders Bookstore.
Daniel’s faith was a very important part of his life. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. His Lay Ministry degree helped to prepare him for his Christian service both within the church and in the community. Upon moving to Holland, he began volunteering at Legacy Thrift – South Holland. He spent many years as a cashier, greeting all with a genuine smile, frequent kind gestures and an occasional corny joke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Theodore Rozendal.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sandra (Rozendal) Hahn; his siblings, Margaret (Michel) Combe, Harriet Davidson, Carolyn Munkwitz, Martin (Sharon) Hahn, Judith (Joe) Beiler, James (Laura) Hahn and Gary (Jennifer) Hahn; his mother-in-law, Judith Rozendal; and his in-laws, Karen (Tom) Strikwerda, Lisa (Terry) VandenBerg and David (Mary) Rozendal. Daniel was the proud uncle to Corrine (Carlos Carrasco) Winter, Anne Marie (Thomas) Burdge, Beth (Adam) Ellsworth, Kim Munkwitz, Rebecca (Tim) Grelk, Jessica (Matt) Mazur, Chelsea (Matthew Schneider) Beiler, Alicia (Nathan) Loveless, Gabrielle Beiler, Rachel Hahn, David (Nicholas Kerzman) Hahn, Abigail Hahn, Mark (Shaina) Strikwerda, Emily (Ryan) DeGroot, Sarah Strikwerda, Marisa (Taylor) Petroelje, Emma VandenBerg, Hannah (Ryan) Bomers, Kayla VandenBerg, Katie (Toby) Sterk and Joshua Rozendal.
