UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 23, 2025) – Two local municipal governing bodies will meet, but not decide on anything, in separate sessions this Wednesday evening.
The 6 PM study session for the Holland City Council is in the second floor Training Room at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.). Jennifer Owens of Lakeshore Advantage will present an annual update, while Michelle Stempien of the Holland Historical Trust & Museum has a presentation as well. In between, council members are slated to talk about the city’s housing support policy.
Meanwhile, the Saugatuck City Council has a 4 PM workshop in the second-floor Meeting Room at Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). Among the discussion items will be looking at extending the current agreement with the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department for police services in the municipality, along with reviewing a survey conducted on a proposal to make all of Kalamazoo Lake a “no wake” zone for slow boating traffic.
At a recent Kalamazoo Lake Harbor Authority meeting involving officials of Saugatuck, Douglas, and Saugatuck Township, Sheriff’s Sergeant Todd Wagner, head of his office’s Marine Unit, cautioned about taking up this all-inclusive request by Sergeant Marina.
Wagner conferred with state officials in Lansing about this.
No final votes will be taken at either the Holland City Council study session or the Saugatuck City Council workshop, but the public is welcome to attend. Click on the highlighted links for agendas and supporting documents.
