HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 21, 2025) – A day many on Holland’s North Side have been waiting for has arrived.
The doors to the Holland Township Community Center open at 7 AM on Monday. The $15 million facility, built over a 20-month period on the site of the former Younkers retailer at The Shops at Westshore (12343 James St.), will include a regulation-size court for basketball and volleyball, along with six pickleball courts, a weightlifting and cardio training area, multipurpose spaces, and a 1/8-mile elevated track. Daily rates for the six-day-a-week center are $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents, with monthly and yearly membership packages available.
Part of the funding for the project, of between $3 million and $4 million, came from an allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.
