FILLMORE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 14, 2025) – A pickup driver lost his life after colliding with a semi-truck south of Holland around dawn on Monday.
No names or other descriptions of the two motorists involved will be disclosed by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office following the 6:19 AM incident on Lincoln Road (M-40) near 141st Avenue. It appeared that the northbound pickup drifted into the southbound lane of the two-lane highway and slammed into the larger truck head on. The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the semi driver was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
It took several hours for the main artery between Holland and Hamilton/Allegan to reopen. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors as the crash remains under investigation.
