HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 3, 2025) – A time-honored tradition in America is the shooting off of fireworks to celebrate the nation’s independence.
However, the freedom to do this comes with some responsibilities, as Holland Department of Public Safety Captain of Administrative Services Bob Buursma explains.
In Michigan, residential fireworks can be fired off from 11 AM to 11:45 PM through Saturday.
The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council holds a fireworks show over Lake Macatawa at dusk on Friday, with a full day of activities at the adjoining Kollen Park beginning at 12 Noon. Other July 4th municipal fireworks shows are planned for Allendale and Grand Haven, while Saugatuck’s display is set for Saturday evening.
