HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 3, 2025) – An effort to renovate a care facility in Holland took a step forward on Wednesday night.
The Holland City Council unanimously approved a rezoning request for three acres of land off of East 32nd Street near Central Avenue. Resthaven wants to overhaul its Maple Woods complex, and this first part of a three-phase project would allow for the adding of 24 residential units, as well as a parking and vehicular entrance off of 32nd Street.
The rezoning request is changing the property in question from low density residential to a planned unit development. Fifth Ward Councilman Scott Corbin’s sentiments echoed those of his colleagues on the governing panel.
Future plans include removing a church structure, and eventually, replacing the current Maple Woods building with a new facility.
Other items on the meeting agenda included approving a tax abatement request for Atlas Headrest, along with accepting the final report for the city’s strategic plan and business plan from the just-completed Fiscal 2025 year.
The Holland City Council met in Chambers at Holland City Hall. An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
