HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 3, 2025) – An overnight altercation on Holland’s North Side ended up with a crash and two drivers being hospitalized before dawn on Thursday.
Dispatchers directed Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies to the area of Beeline Road and Felch Street on a report of a fight involving several individuals around a silver vehicle, but when they arrived, the sedan was gone, and nobody was saying anything. A few minutes later, that vehicle was spotted in a collision involving a tractor-trailer pulling a couple of loads of rock that had turned over at the junction of US-31 and Felch Street.
It was learned that the eastbound sedan had driven through a red light, and the northbound semi couldn’t avoid a collision. A 24-year-old Holland man driving the passenger vehicle was flown to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries, while the 60-year-old trucker from Pentwater was also hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
It took several hours to clear up the situation, with northbound US-31 blocked off as a result. No names were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
