LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 26, 2025) – Although most Ottawa County government operations are done at the Fillmore Street complex in West Olive, the official county seat is still Grand Haven.
That community is in line for sharing more than $130,000 from a Main Street Vibrancy grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation that were announced on Wednesday. Nine municipalities in all were in line for the funds that aims to enhance downtown districts through a variety of programs, campaigns, physical improvements and more.
Grand Haven leaders plan on using up to $15,000 in its grant for installing backless benches, banners, and wayfaring signage, along with other amenities, as part of a new Love Local branding for its city center district. It joins Coopersville and Wayland as Lakeshore municipalities participating in the MEDC’s Michigan Main Street effort in 2025.
