OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 25, 2025) – The importance is still there, but the urgency has been lifted in the search for a new Ottawa County Administrator.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the board opted not to tender a contract offer to Michael Tremblay, the soon-to-be-retired Army Captain who went through a public interview process nearly two weeks ago. He was the only finalist in the latest search for a new permanent operational leader, and the governing panel went along with the recommendation from current Interim Administrator Gary Rosema to take a pause in the process.
The retired Ottawa County Sheriff, along with retired County Prosecutor Ron Frantz, both agreed to remain on in their temporary roles in leading county government, while the board processes current and incoming applications before returning to the search process after the Labor Day holiday.
Ottawa County has been without a permanent administrator since February 29th of last year, when John Gibbs was relieved of his duties. Two search processes have failed to come up with a successor, with the board severing an agreement last week with Brighton-based Double Haul Solutions to assist in the search.
