PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/Jun. 20, 2025) – One can’t fault organizers of the Holland Waterfront Celtic Festival and Highland Games if they feel a little snake bit.
Despite the lingering aftereffects of COVID-19 health protocols, the annual event that honors the Irish, Scottish and Welsh heritage in the region had a successful beginning at Window on the Waterfront Park in 2022. Now in its third year at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds (1286 Ottawa Beach Rd.), the fourth such festival kicks off at 4 PM on Friday with four live bands performing on stage, along with adult beverage specials. A full day on Saturday features not only musical acts and dance performances, but unique athletic competitions.
Just as last year, an extreme heat watch will be in effect on Saturday. Craig Rich, one of the organizers of the festival, remembers well the impact such cautions had on the 2024 festivities.
The former Holland City Councilman has ambitious goals for the event.
