HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 18, 2025) – The last independent leader of Macatawa Bank is retiring.
On Tuesday, the Holland-based financial entity announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Jon Swets will step down on August 1st. He stepped up to the joint leadership role two years ago after over two decades as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer. Swets oversaw the takeover of Macatawa Bank by Wintrust Financial Corporation last August.

Chris Woelffer, who came with Wintrust to be the West Michigan Market Head, will assume the CEO duties, while Jill Walcott takes over as Bank President. Woelffer has more than 36 years of banking experience.
