LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 18, 2025) – The search for a new manager in Laketown Township has resumed.
An online advertisement was posted on Saturday for the post that is currently handled, on an interim basis, by Supervisor Steven Ringelberg. Last Wednesday, he and other board member agreed to restart the effort to fill the vacancy created by the January retirement of Al Meshkin after 35 years at the post.
A timeline was also established, with a July 7 special closed-door board meeting to review the candidate applications; interviews and selections of finalists would be done a week later; tours, second interviews, and a conditional contract offer to be made on July 21; and a tentative start date of mid-August for the new operational leader. An annual salary and incentive package of between $115,000 and $135,000 was also agreed to by township trustees.
Ringelberg, who was initially set to relinquish the interim manager duties on June 30, will now stay at that post through October 31. Former Holland City Manager Ryan Cotton, now with the retained search firm MGT, will continue to advise the board on this managerial search.
