ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 12, 2025) – There will be a new leader of Zeeland’s alternative educational program.
Allison Nelson, who has been in the district as an instructor, department chair, and most recently a trauma and resilience coach, for the past 15 years, was named this week as the director for ZQuest, which provides a balanced calendar in what district officials say is a unique, family feel, with varied learning opportunities which are project-based over several age spans. She replaces Joe Grit, who had been its director for the past two years.
Nelson received her bachelor’s degree from Hope College, and her master’s diploma from the University of Michigan. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University, and is an educational consultant for a number of school districts throughout Michigan.
