POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 9, 2025) – Two persons were hospitalized following a two-vehicle, rollover crash east of Coopersville on Monday evening.
No names, the extent of their injuries, or where the two motorists were taken for treatment were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cassie Tolman following the incident, which occurred shortly after 7 PM at the intersection of Cleveland Street and 48th Avenue. It appeared that a southbound vehicle, driven by a 92-year-old man from Caledonia, drove through a stop sign and smashed into a westbound vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old local woman that had the right of way. Both vehicles ended up in a field off of the junction, and the unbuckled older man, who was pinned inside, had to be extricated by rescue workers.
The incident remains under investigation.
