OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 5, 2025) – It took nearly six hours, along with a lot of discussion, but finalists for the Ottawa County Administrator position may be emerging.
The Board of Commissioners twice “adjourned” its special session on Wednesday as retained consultant Double Haul Solutions presented around 30 qualified candidates for the full-time operational leadership position. In the end, the panel, on a 7-4 vote, chose five unnamed finalists to be contacted for public interviews and conversations next Wednesday and Thursday. Those finalists should be disclosed sometime on Thursday.
Board Chairman John Teeples of Jenison wants to have a final decision made following next week’s presentations.
Ottawa County hasn’t had a full-time administrator since John Gibbs was relieved of his duties on February 29th of last year. Former Sheriff Gary Rosema is currently handling the position on an interim basis.
