SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 3, 2025) – In the overall scheme of things along the Lakeshore, an open house about the design of a roadway in a single community may not seem like much.
However, for those who live on or near Maple Street in Saugatuck, a split open house slated for Tuesday is a big deal. From 3 to 5:30 PM, and again from 7 to 8:30 PM, city officials, along with representatives of retained engineering consultant Fleis and VandenBrink, will be on hand at City Hall (102 Butler St.) to go over design plans for Maple Street, between the Blue Star Highway and North Street.
Work is slated for next year on road reconstruction, water main replacement, draining and storm water management improvements, and the building of a five-foot-wide pedestrian sidewalk on the west side of the road. For those unable to attend, Jon Moxey of Fleis and VandenBrink will be available at 616-977-1000.
