ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 27, 2025) – Two 25-year-old persons from Grand Rapids were injured, one of which was arrested, following a single-vehicle crash in Allendale late on Monday night.
No names were disclosed following the incident around 11:30 PM in front of the Allendale Township Fire Station off of Lake Michigan Drive and 68th Avenue. That was where an eastbound sedan, going at a “very high speed,” according to on-scene witnesses, lost control, struck a curb, and smashed into a utility pole, shearing it into two pieces.
The man driving the vehicle was first taken to Corewell-Zeeland Hospital for treatment before being transported to the Ottawa County Jail on unspecified charges, while his female passenger went to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with serious facial injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
