HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 25, 2025) – This weekend may be the start of the summer vacation season, but the actual holiday itself on Monday should be noted and remembered.
Highlighting the Memorial Day activities along the Lakeshore is the 9:30 AM parade through downtown Holland to Pilgrim Home Cemetery, where an 11 AM remembrance program takes place. Richard “Doc” Jakubczak is with the Holland Area Veterans Council that stages the event.

In Zeeland, a 9 AM parade through downtown ends with a similar remembrance program at the Zeeland Cemetery. Mayor Kevin Klynstra.
There are also 9:30 AM parades through Grand Haven and Jenison; a 10 AM service in downtown Hudsonville, as well as a parade through Jamestown; and 11 AM parades in Plainwell and Wayland.
