Geraldine Witt, age 92 of Holland, entered into her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Geraldine spent her early years on a farm in McBain, Michigan, before marrying her husband as he entered the Army. Their journey took them to El Paso, Texas, back to Michigan for a short time, Ripon, California, Chicago, Illinois, Lincoln, Nebraska and back to California before finally settling in Holland in 2013.
A dedicated nurse, Geraldine began her career working with newborns and later served as a triage nurse in the emergency room, providing compassionate care to countless patients. Known for her infectious laughter and mischievous spirit, she delighted her family and friends with her playful pranks and a twinkle in her eye.
Geraldine is survived by her children: Shelley (Doug) Terpstra, Kimberly (Jeremy) Meyer, and daughter-in-law Armitta Witt; grandchildren: Jared (Abby) Terpstra, Jennifer (Matthew) Velderman, Jacob Meyer, Menamo Meyer, Xavier Meyer, Andrew (Shawna) Conley, Elizabeth Witt, and Alex Witt; as well as four great-grandchildren; sisters: Lois (Harv) Winkel, Ruth Brinks, Carol (Paul) Zomerli; in-laws: Saramae (Gordon) Vander Ark, Jeanne (Ed) Ausema, Shirley Witt; as well as extended family.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius “Conn” Witt in 2017; her son, Dave Witt; her siblings, Peter and Marilyn.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, in the auditorium at Freedom Village, 145 Columbia Ave. Holland, MI 49423. Pastor Dan Walcott will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to Holland Christian Schools.
