HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 14, 2025) – The first of two biannual efforts to improve the lot of those who live along the Lakeshore is set for Wednesday.
From 1 PM to 4 PM, over two thousand volunteers will be fanning out to participate in activities, from hands-on service projects to community clean-up endeavors in the Michigan West Coast Chamber’s fourth annual Community Impact Day. It’s geared to not only help out now, but to inspire such public service efforts throughout the rest of the spring and summer. Chamber officials say that nearly 10 other communities are undertaking similar initiatives across the state.
A community celebration will follow the Wednesday efforts, from 4 PM to 6 PM, at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place (150 W. 8th St.), with complimentary food and beverages.
A similar community improvement initiative is held every September with The Heart of West Michigan United Way’s Day of Caring, which usually kicks off its annual fundraising drive.
