KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 13, 2025) – Fears about the economy in the wake of action taken by the Trump Administration in Washington are being felt around the globe, but those concerns are somewhat muted locally.
During his monthly canvassing of purchasing managers in the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo areas, taken during the final two weeks in April, Dr. Brian Long, Director of Supply Management Research with the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University, found that sentiment remains marginally positive despite the threats of higher tariffs.
Dr. Long’s four key index results show new orders, production, employment and lead times all trending positive.
