Calvin L. Tardiff passed away March 15, 2025 after a brief illness.
He was born to Calvin and Anne Tardiff, and graduated from Holland Public Schools.
He ventured off to California to manage Thrifty Drug Stores before returning to his hometown of Holland, MI to open his own restaurant The Salad Bowl, later known as the Salad Bowl North and also the Yum Yum Shoppe. He owned and operated them with his family by his side for more than 30 years.
More recently he was the founder of Memory Lane Productions.
“Cal” was a member of the Holland Historical Trust, The Elk’s Lodge, The Pioneer Club, The VFW Post 2144, The Moose Lodge, and the American Legion.
Preceding him in death was his wife Marcia Tardiff and huis daughter Gail Marie Bronson. He will be sadly missed by his children Peggy Tardiff (Randy Driesenga), Penny & Bob Kloosterman, Clavin Tardiff Jr., Melissa Bussies, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his sister Rose Albers and his brother Raymond Tardiff.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland, American Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
