Clarence was born in Memphis, TN May 3, 1944 to Samuel and Bessie Brandon on his grandparents farm. He moved to Flint, MI in 1954 and eventually settled in Holland in 1992 with his family. Clarence worked in manufacturing for most of his life, retiring from Repcolite in Holland. He was a member of the Nation of Islam.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Carrie in 2008; parents Samuel and Bessie; daughters Felicia Moore and Angie Wilson-Burton; son Damon Brandon; grandson Rodney Brandon; sisters, Karen Dozier and Mildred Brown; brothers Samuel Brandon Jr., Wendall Bernard Brandon; and a nephew Wendell Brandon.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Kemp, Eric Millender, Montrise Santee, Adrian Santee, Chandra Brandon, Faatima Brandon, Zikeya Brandon, Cyril Brandon, Vanika Brandon, Brandon (Velen Ybarra) Brandon; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; siblings Robert (Mary) Brandon, Alton (Valinda) Brandon, Vinetta (Richard) Maynor, Theenda (Courtney) Yarbrough; many extended family and friends.
A memorial celebration of life for Clarence will be held May 3, 2025 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM at Maple Avenue Ministries, 427 Maple Avenue, Holland, MI 49423.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with costs for services.
