GAINES TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 16, 2025) – Speed is now considered a factor as more details were disclosed on Wednesday about a Sunday evening crash in southern Kent County that took the life of a 26-year-old Allendale man.
In the statement by the County Sheriff’s Office about the incident around 5:20 PM on Kalamazoo Avenue north of 100th Street, preliminary findings indicated that the yet-to-be-named man was helmeted on his motorcycle, and apparently tried to pass a northbound minivan when the larger vehicle started to make a left turn. Minor injuries were sustained by a 41-year-old Caledonia woman driving the minivan.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash as the investigation into the matter continues.
