ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 12, 2025) – An 80-year-old man is hospitalized after being trapped under a tractor at a residence east of Zeeland on Saturday evening.
No name was disclosed as Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the area of 76th Avenue and Perry Street around 5:15 PM. The man was apparently using the tractor for yardwork when it flipped over on top of him, pinning him underneath.
Rescue workers stabilized the victim before an Aeromed helicopter arrived to fly him to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment. His condition and the extent of his injuries were not disclosed.
The roadway was blocked for a period of time to allow the helicopter to arrive and depart the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
