HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 7, 2025) – Approving contracts spotlights Monday night’s biweekly business meeting of the Zeeland City Council.
No less than four deals are up for consideration by the governing panel. One is for $2.5 million to expand and renovate the Zeeland BPW’s administrative office, with Lakewood Construction being the general contractor. Another is a $29,500 pact with Glass Images of Holland to replace glass in the city’s public safety building. Site Work Solutions, which worked on the city’s Main Avenue project, has submitted the low bid of nearly $2.9 million for the Taft Street renovation. Finally, city staffers are recommending retaining Carbon Six Construction for work on Hoogland Park, at a cost of nearly $1.2 million.
In addition, council will be asked to adopt the city’s 2025 Strategic Plan that has been in the works for the past three months. The document focuses on financial sustainability, strong, safe and connected neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown, developing an organizational culture, foster culture, parks and recreation, stimulate economic and community development, and bolster the city’s infrastructure and services.
A 6:15 PM Study Session precedes the 7 PM business meeting for the Zeeland City Council in Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
