BLENDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 5, 2025) – A 57-year-old Grand Rapids man lost his life in a fiery single-vehicle, rollover crash northwest of Hudsonville on Friday evening.
No name was immediately given by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Nicholas Knott in the 8 PM incident in which the westbound vehicle on Tyler Street left the roadway near 56th Avenue and struck a tree. When first responders arrived, they found the vehicle ablaze, and while Blendon Township Fire Rescue crews were able to bring the flames under control quickly, LIFE ambulance staffers were unable to revive the man, who was apparently alone at the time of the crash.
Knott also didn’t go into the circumstances that led the vehicle to leave the roadway as the incident remains under investigation.
