HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 2, 2025) – Tuesday may have been April Fools Day, but there was no fooling for one local organization and a couple of individuals cited for their accomplishments.
The Holland Board of Public Works earned three awards from the American Public Power Association. The municipal utility garnered Diamond Status as a Reliable Public Power Provider and a Safety Award of Excellence, along with a Certificate of Excellence in Reliability. The Diamond Status is the highest designation that the APPA offers, while the BPW is among 255 public power utilities with that reliability certificate.
Meanwhile, the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association announced the finalists for its annual Stars of the Industry Awards that recognizes leadership within the state’s hospitality industry. Among those finalists are Alyssa Warren of Holland’s Tulyp Hotel as Room Attendant Star of the Year, as well as Rachel Tejada of Holland’s Creative Dining as Women in Hospitality Leadership Star of the Year. Winners will be announced at the MRLA’s Stars of the Industry Dinner at Novi’s Suburban Collection Showplace on April 16th.
