UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 27, 2025) โ While two school districts in Allegan/Ottawa counties, along with two others that bleed into the Lakeshore, have bond proposals before voters on the May 6th ballot, two local districts are considering this in the near future.
Thursday is the deadline for residents in the Zeeland Public School district to participate in an online โCommunity Bond Survey.โ According to Interim Superintendent Matt Stolz, responses from parents and other stakeholders will help the district in making some โchallengingโ choices on what improvements would make the most significant impact.
Also on Thursday is the last in a series of โopen housesโ held by Holland Public Schools on its โFive Year Facility Plan.โ From 5-7 PM at the districtโs administration building (320 W. 24th Street), Superintendent Nick Cassidy and other staffers will not only go over planned changes to the elementary school structure, but also consider other improvements, including building a multi-use stadium on the Holland High campus so that the district can get out of its lease with Hope College for the use of Ray & Sue Smith Stadium. An online survey effort on a possible $45 million bond proposal is continuing.
On the May 6th ballot are bond requests of $88.1 million for Allendale Public Schools, $46.5 million for Otsego Public Schools, and proposals from the Fruitport and Delton Kellogg school districts.
