Pauline Ruth Meeuwsen went home to her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born in Zeeland, Michigan on March 9, 1928, to Angeline (De Witt) and Martin Nagelkirk, and was the oldest of 8 children.
Pauline was a graduate of Zeeland High School, and on September 30, 1949, married Robert (Bob) Meeuwsen. He preceded her in death in 2013. They lived in the Holland and Zeeland area during their married life.
Paulineโs firm faith in Jesus Christ was her lifeline through difficult times and good times. Also being involved with her church was very important to her. She volunteered on various committees, teaching Sunday school, and for many years attended Bible studies.
Over their 60 years of married life Pauline and Bob traveled, spent weeks in Florida, and their trip to the Holy Land in Isreal was the best of all travels. Pauline loved her family and was always interested in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildrenโs lives. She was especially thrilled when her first great grandchild, Abbie was born on her birthday.
Surviving are her five children, Cliff and Karen Meeuwsen, Arlen and Cathie Meeuwsen, Suann and Jim Zwiers, Ross and Lorri Meeuwsen, and Robb Meeuwsen. She also is survived by 13 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren, with her first great-great grandchild soon to be born. Her brothers and sisters, Sherwin Nagelkirk, Goldie Lubben, Ardie and Don Vander Schaaf, Marcia and Joe Wiggers, and Terry and Deb Nagelkirk; sister-in-law Phyllis Hommerson and many nieces and nephews also survive her.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers Melvin Nagelkirk and Dennis Nagelkirk, granddaughter Kimberly Jo Meeuwsen, in-laws Jeanette Nagelkirk, George Lubben, parents- in-law Dan and Sena Meeuwsen, and all of Bobโs 7 siblings, and their spouses.
Visitation will be at Community Reformed Church in Zeeland, Mi, located on the corner of 104th and Felch St., from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. A celebration of Paulineโs life will be held at Community Reformed Church on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11 am. A luncheon will follow the service. In memory of Pauline contributions may be given to Samaritans Purse or the Bible League. The burial will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Holland Ml.
The family would like to express many, many thanks to her care givers at Rileyโs Grove, for their compassion, their extra kind care, and for just loving her.
