HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 22, 2025) – A five-year member of the Holland Department of Pubic Safety’s Fire Operations has received the unit’s highest honor.
This week, Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician Angela Lound was named the 2025 Firefighter of the Year. Nominated by her coworkers for her hard work and effort, department leaders agreed that she embodied the core values of compassion, respect, integrity, professionalism, and dedication that the award acknowledges.
A West Ottawa High grad, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Michigan State University, Lound has been instrumental in securing, through the Citizen CPR Foundation, a “HeartSafe Community” designation for Holland, one of just 10 nationwide in promoting hands-free CPR training and heart health awareness. She will represent the department in various public functions over the next year as part of this honor.
