UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 15, 2025) – Although the end of classes for Academic 2025 won’t come for a couple of months or so, several students from the Lakeshore have earned accolades for their efforts outside of the classroom.
Holland High senior Karinna Martinez earned honorable mention in the 21st annual C-SPAN StudentCam competition. She will receive $250 for the video “The Road to the American Dream – Worthiness & Representation in Education,” with adviser Jeff Kordich also earning recognition. The program, aimed at having students explore and analyze matters of personal, local or national importance, received over 1,700 entries from around 3,500 students in 42 states, along with Washington, DC. This year’s theme was, “Your Message to the President: What issue is most important to you or your community?”
