HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 12, 2025) – By the end of 2025, hope will be found along Waverly Road in Holland.
Gateway Mission announced on Tuesday that its Building Hope Capital Campaign has raised $10.9 million of an $11.5 million goal for renovating the former Davenport University building into its new Men’s Center. This “Eastport” facility of 46,000 square feet would more than double the current capacity of the mission’s current men’s center at the corner of West 7th Street and River Avenue in downtown Holland, while featuring a state-of-the-art kitchen, along with increased vocational training opportunities.
Jason Parks of the Mission explained why this move is beneficial for all.
Last month, Gateway Mission sold the River Avenue property for $2.35 million to Underground Building Maintenance of Jenison, with an allowance of free rent at the facility until the new Men’s Center opens, probably in November.
