HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 10, 2025) – Customers of the Holland Board of Public Works could see some rate increases by the middle of the year.
During Monday afternoon’s meeting, the board of the municipal utility will vote on proposed levies for the upcoming fiscal year that begins on July 1st. While no base rate increase is being put forward for electricity and broadband, a 13 percent hike in water rates and a three-percent wastewater rate is recommended, mostly for capital projects, maintenance issues, and debt service coverage. The Holland City Council has the final say on the matter when it considers the Fiscal 2026 budget at its May 14th meeting.
The Holland BPW Board meets at 4 PM in the utility’s offices (625 Hastings Ave.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
