LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 5, 2025) – While blueberry season in Michigan is still several months away, the panel that helps improve the economic position and competitiveness of this industry will see two of its members reappointed, and another stepping forward.
All three of Governor Whitmer’s latest selections for the Michigan Blueberry Commission have ties to the Lakeshore. Eric Kamphuis of Holland is the farm manager for S. Kamphuis Blueberries, as well as owns and manages Kamphuis Farms. Dave Reenders of Grand Haven is the president and owner of Crossroads Blueberry Farm. Jason Thomas of Grand Junction is the operations manager at Thomas Blueberries. Reenders and Thomas are returning to this panel, while Kamphuis is a new member.
The state Senate has to sign off on these three appointments before they can start serving their two-plus-year terms in earnest, through the end of 2027.
