OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 5, 2025) – The turbulence that has surrounded the Fillmore Street complex for more than two years hasn’t apparently affected how Wall Street sees Ottawa County Government.
County officials announced on Tuesday that Moody’s Investors Service has maintained an AAA bond rating for the government entity, citing a consistently strong available fund balance, proactive budget management, and modest fixed costs as key factors in its decision.
While Moody’s based its rating on what happened in the past, the decision was announced on the watch of District 7 Commissioner and Board Chairman John Teeples of Jenison.
The strong bond rating will help the county with lower borrowing costs, better access to capital markets, and positive perception by outside interests.
