HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 22, 2025) – Four persons were hospitalized, and a busy intersection along US-31 north of Holland was out of commission for some time, following a two-vehicle crash around dawn on Saturday.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong following the incident just before 7 AM at the junction of US-31 and Quincy Street. A northbound vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle, with one driver unable to remember if the traffic signal was green or not, and the other unable to recall the collision at all.
The force of the crash caused the vehicle to careen into a utility pole, bringing down the signals onto the roadway, and compelling deputies to block off the area while repairs were made. Both drivers involved – a 28-year-old Holland woman and a 38-year-old Ontario woman – along with two other women with the Canadian driver, were all taken to undisclosed hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
