ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 10, 2025) – A 24-year-old Pullman man is in custody, charged with the death of his mother last September at their home.
Craig Michael Mills has been in custody in the Berrien County Jail on counts stemming from a traffic crash on September 17th, resisting officers at that time, when Allegan County Sheriff’s Detectives determined that he was the prime suspect in the death of his 43-year-old mother, Mable Mills, at a residence in Lee Township.
An employee of a Fennville gas station where she worked called Central Dispatch on September 19th, saying that Mrs. Mills had not been in for a couple of days, and didn’t respond to repeated calls. Family members were with deputies when they came to her house and found her body, and the Allegan County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that she had died two days earlier, and ruled out suicide or accidental death as causes.
Craig Mills was living with his mother at the time of the incident, but no further details were given in the Monday statement from the Sheriff’s Office disclosing the Open Murder count against him. No other suspects are being sought at this time.
