With heavy hearts, we share the passing of beloved husband, dad & papa, Steven Andrew Tripp, who left this world far too soon at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer. This battle was fought with the same strength, courage, and determination that defined his life. He never gave up, fighting with everything he had—for his family.
Steve’s greatest love in life was his beautiful wife, Jamie, his high school sweetheart and soulmate. From the moment they met, they shared a love and connection that was truly extraordinary. Married for 42 wonderful years, their relationship was built on deep devotion, laughter and an unbreakable bond—one that stood the test of time and became a love story that everyone could learn from. They were not just partners in life but best friends, each other’s greatest supporters, and together built a beautiful family.
Steve was an incredible athlete, excelling in football and track, during his high school years. His dedication, competitive spirit, and relentless drive on the field reflected the way he lived his life—always giving his all, pushing forward, and fighting for those he loved.
A well-known face in Holland, he developed strong relationships and friendships through his 30 years at Haworth and then becoming a beloved staple at Family Fare. He was always offering a friendly smile or encouraging fist bump to those he encountered.
Above all, Steve was a family man through and through. He was the proud and loving father of three amazing daughters, Megan, Blake, and MacKenzie, who adored him beyond words. He welcomed three wonderful sons-in-law, Martin, Bryce, Steve, into the family, embracing them as his own. But we believe his greatest joy of all was being Papa to his four beautiful granddaughters, who lit up his world and filled his heart. There was nothing he cherished more than the time he spent with them, and they will forever carry his love and wisdom in their hearts.
In accordance with Steve’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. Instead, we will gather privately as a family to honor his memory. While we deeply appreciate the love and support from family and friends, we kindly ask for no food or flowers at this time. If you wish to honor Steve, please consider a donation to the University of Michigan in his name.
Though he is no longer physically with us, Steve’s love will never leave us. His strength, kindness, laughter, wit and unwavering love for his family will remain in our hearts forever.
We love you forever Steve, Dad & Papa!
