
Hope College junior Liam Danitz has been selected as the MIAA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
It is the first MIAA weekly honor for the sprinter from West Branch, Michigan (Ogemaw Heights HS).
Danitz excelled at Grand Valley State’s Bob Eubanks Open last weekend, setting the school record in the 60-meter dash, first in the prelims (6.90 seconds) and then again in the finals (6.89). His time of 6.89 is currently ranked 21st in the nation.
The exercise science major also set the school record in the 200 meters with a time of 21.72 seconds which converts to 22.11 for a 200-meter track). Danitz’s time is currently seventh in the NCAA.
Danitz also anchored the 4×400 relay (3:21.27) which is currently ranked thirteenth in the country.
