UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 21, 2025) – Inclement weather compelled Lawrence High to cancel its scheduled boys and girls varsity basketball games against visiting Fennville last night.
Weather conditions have already forced Saugatuck to postpone its scheduled contests for the boys against Watervliet and the girls at South Haven this evening; the Trailblazers’ boys will entertain the Panthers tomorrow night.
The specter of more weather-related cancellations also hang over the rest of this evening’s scheduled prep hoops matchups along the Lakeshore. Those contests include: Unity Christian’s boys facing Holland Christian at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, with the Crusaders hosting the reverse girls’ fixture; Zeeland East’s boys and girls at Zeeland West; Hamilton’s boys at Spring Lake, with the Hawkeyes hosting the girls’ reverse fixture; Fennville’s boys at Martin; Hesperia’s boys at Black River; Reeths-Puffer’s girls at Holland; and Black River’s girls at Fennville.

Grand Valley State swept a pair of games from host Roosevelt in Chicago last night. Nicole Kamin tallied 17 points as the women’s won the opener, 70-51. Kaden Brown scored 30 points in 30 minutes of action as the Lakers captured the men’s nightcap, 76-70. GVSU entertains Parkside in another women’s/men’s twin bill at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale on Thursday evening.
In scheduled state major-college basketball this evening: Northern Illinois is at Western Michigan; Ball State is at Central Michigan; and Ohio is at Eastern Michigan.
