HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 15, 2025) – Wednesday night’s Holland City Council meeting will be special, probably not for what may be on the agenda.
The annual Social Justice Awards and Youth Social Justice Awards, presented by the city’s Human Relations Commission, will be handed out at the outset of the business session at 6 PM. As City Manager Keith Van Beek says, it’s a way for the Tulip City’s leaders to recognize those who are making a difference in the community.
Honors will be presented in the areas of housing, education, government relations, community relations, health services, and accessibility, as well as a lifetime achievement award. The Holland Youth Advisory Council selects the Youth Social Justice Award recipient.
Mostly routine government matters are on the agenda for the rest of the Holland City Council meeting, to be held in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
