Steven D Vandenberg age 77, of Holland, died Monday, December 23, 2024.
Steve was born in Holland and graduated from Holland High School and Davenport University. He worked in the family L.P. Gas Company, Vandenberg Gas, for over 30 years and then retired from Davenport University Holland Campus, working in the Security Office for 18 years.
His hobbies included antiquing, metal detecting, collecting stamps and post cards. He and Patty volunteered for the NTPA “Pullers against drugs” program which is now their scholarship program.
Steve was the son of Donald and Loretta Vandenberg and was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David and sister, Lori Ruppert; grandparents, Jacob and Minnie Vandenberg; Parents-in-law, Bernard and Dawn Dornan; great nephew Max DuVal.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; daughter, Tammy (Tim) Scholten; granddaughter, Nichole (Matthew) Milligan; great grandsons, Sawyer and Parker; nieces: Jennifer Vander Slik, Melissa and Jason Gibson (Kylee), Eden and Ryan Corbett (Kinsley and Samuel), Samantha and Joshua DuVal (Madelynn, Isla and Charlotte).
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 30, at the funeral home.
