
Hope College sits in first place in the MIAA Commissioner’s Cup all-sports standings following the fall season.
Led by MIAA championships in three sports and top-three finishes in two more, Hope totaled 48.5 points during the final and leads second-place Calvin University (44) and third-place Trine University (42.5).
The fall update provides an unofficial glimpse at the Commissioner’s Cup standings.. Each institution’s top-eight finishes per gender contribute to the final standings. The fall update reflects results from three men’s and three women’s sports.
The Commissioner’s Cup recognizes the cumulative performance of each member school across the league’s 23 sports: 11 women’s and 12 men’s. Hope has won the award a league-record 40 times.
This fall, Hope captured outright MIAA championships in football and volleyball, as well as a co-championship in men’s soccer. The Flying Dutchmen also secured a runner-up finish in men’s cross country, while the Flying Dutch were runners-up in women’s soccer.
The rest of the Commissioner’s Cup standings features Albion College in fourth place (31.5), Adrian College in fifth (28), Kalamazoo College in sixth (25.5), Alma College in seventh (24), The University of Olivet and Saint Mary’s College tied for eighth (11.5 apiece).
