PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 15, 2024) – Money for two parks in – Park Township – are headed in from Lansing.
On Friday, the Lakeshore community announced that two grants totaling over $826,000 from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has been awarded for improvements to Winstrom Park and the new Community Park. Half a million dollars from the DNR’s Land and Water Conservation Fund will go towards parking and restrooms at the Community Park, on the site of the former Park Township Airport. In addition, more than $326,000 from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund will enhance Winstrom Park with educational signage, along with renovating trails and boardwalks.

The timeline for work on these projects is still “in development,” but officials are looking at beginning both efforts next fall.
