ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 14, 2024) – Two teens from Zeeland were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the city’s northern limits on Saturday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, a vehicle attempted to exit a parking lot opposite of Zeeland East High School, off of 96th Avenue north of Riley Street around 1:40 PM. The 16-year-old girl driving that vehicle told responding deputies that she thought the road was clear. However, a northbound vehicle emerged and collided with her vehicle.
The two teens – which included a 15-year-old girl – were taken to an undisclosed hospital by LIFE ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The other driver, a 43-year-old Holland man was not hurt.
The girl driving the first vehicle was cited for not yielding right-of-way.
